Carmen Susarret joins aim cincinnati this year as Development Director. A Cincinati native, Carmen began studying dance at the age of 4 at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Over the next 14 years, Carmen continued studying various forms of dance at CCM, the Arts Consortium, the Cincinnati Ballet Center, and finally, attending the School for Creative and Performing Arts as a Dance and Drama major. As a young dancer and performer Carmen gained innumerable performance experiences at SCPA, The Children's Theater of Cincinnati, The Cincinnati Ballet, Kincaid Regional Theater and others, as well as acting and modeling work for a wide variety of companies. As a member of SCPA's Dance Ensemble for 6 intensive years Carmen would perform in over a dozen full-length ballets and hundreds of excerpt pieces and promotional shows across the region, touring around all of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, Eastern Indiana, Dayton, Columbus and Athens, performing in schools, Arts centers, libraries, convention centers, museums, major theaters and colleges, and gain extensive experience in Arts Outreach and Education while exposing new audience to Dance.

After 6 intensive years in SCPA's Dance Ensemble, studying primarily under Sheila Cohen, Patricia Rozow and Darryl Bjoza, Carmen was awarded a Fellowship at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater School where she trained for 3 seasons under Ailey veterans such as Earl Mosley, Troy Powell and Matthew Rushing. Over the years Carmen has studied Ballet, Horton, Graham and various other forms of Modern Dance, Jazz, African, various Latin Dance styles and Traditional and Folk dances, and performed with countless groups. After running her own business and gaining fundraising experience with a major Non-profit in NYC, Carmen joins aim to help develop new opportunities and nurture existing ones. Carmen has been teaching, dancing and volunteering with aim cincinnati since 2009, and brings to aim a wealth of experience and passion for the Arts, and the education of young dancers.
